“Thanks so much for everything – I had an absolutely fantastic week, met some wonderful people, and gained half a stone (with no regret whatsoever) on absolutely gorgeous food which I had mostly produced myself. Your team could not have been nicer, expecting us to grasp things quickly but always happy to go back over things if required. The range of dishes we covered was thorough, comprehensive and all very cookable.”

“This course completely blew me away exceeding all expectations. The friendly but intensive working environment has taken me from feeling nervous about my upcoming season to extremely excited and confident in my abilities. The small group size is a massive selling point for Cambridge Cookery School allowing a personal focus that many of my friends who went on courses by other providers felt they needed.”
“This course is the perfect course both if you already have a job for the winter or are looking to benefit from the exceptional interview process offered. The depth and breadth of skills will no doubt prove irreplaceable no matter what the size of chalet or job role you are looking to undertake in the mountains. A highly professional and enjoyable experience – would thoroughly recommend.”
– Ben Preston, July 2013
The testimonials we receive reflect the fact that we are as far from the big “cooking by numbers” style cookery schools you could possibly get. We don’t have confidence in conveyor belt style training, and nor do our partners in the chalet world.
Our teaching is based on rigorous classic technique. We equip our budding chalet chefs with professional building blocks vital for embarking on a ski season and cooking for discerning guests, for whom the food in their Chalet is an important part of the skiing holiday. Whether you embark on this for a Gap year or as part of a career, we give you the necessary skills.
Our Chalet course fills 7 highly intensive days with the content that some schools take 2-weeks to cover. We have chosen to create long days with a high tempo to cut down on the time and money you invest in training. We work in small groups with a minimum of 1 teacher per 6 students.
The course includes;
- time management and menu planning
- key cheffing and cooking skills
- relevant 7-day menus including starters, main courses and desserts for adults and children
- nutrition and special diets options
- food presentation
- table-setting, napkin folding and table service
- introduction to regional wines
- fast track to the HR teams of our chalet partners
